I've been meaning to post here, but it all went by so quickly! The orchestra had a wonderful workshop yesterday. We went into a recording studio and recorded some Disney tunes from Lion King, Frozen, Tangled, as well as the famous "When You Wish Upon A Star" castle music that you hear at the beginning of every Disney movie. They played it back for us, and set it to the animation and it sounded amazing! Our workshop clinician was great, and I think we all learned a lot from the experience, and had a great time while we were at it.
Then today we had our performance, which went very nicely. The Disney crew were amazing, adding creative touches to our performance, such as lighting the backdrop in red and yellow when we were playing music from the Incredibles :) I'm proud of our orchestra for putting this program together, especially in such a short time, and performing it with such musicality. What a great way to end our trip!
Bonus: ask the orchestra about the celebrity they ran into backstage :)
